Sisterhood Viera Bible study for women | Luke: Gut-Level Compassion

In Lisa Harper’s Bible study Luke: Gut-Level Compassion, we’ll dive into the Gospel of Luke from start to finish and unpack one of the major themes - Jesus’s splagnitzomai– translated from the Greek as "gut-level compassion" for all people.

 

The compassion Jesus has for us is not a superficial compassion. It's from the very gut of God. The recipients of Jesus' gut-level compassion are outliers and outcasts. They are real people, and Jesus is a real God. And he loves us more than we can possibly imagine, even on our messy days.
